Nothing gets shipped out
Your order is cleaned and finished in this building. It does not go on a truck to a plant in another town and come back a week later.
Our story
A woman-led small business in Arab, Alabama, run by the same person who started it and staffed by people who have been here for years.
How it started
Cathy has been in business for herself since 1991, beginning with an alteration shop. The full service Arab store opened in 1994 and has been running ever since.
What began as a needle and thread grew into a full cleaning plant, but the alterations side never went away. It is still here, still in the building, and still one of the reasons people drive in from out of town.
With one exception, the staff have been with Cathy since 2013. In a trade where the person handling your clothes changes constantly, that is worth something. They know which garments need a second look and which customers like their shirts with no starch.
What that means for you
Your order is cleaned and finished in this building. It does not go on a truck to a plant in another town and come back a week later.
If a hem is not right or a stain needs another pass, the person who can fix it is behind the counter, not on the end of a phone line.
Some stains are set and some fabrics will not survive the treatment it would take. We would rather say so before we take your money.

DF-2000 is a hydrocarbon dry cleaning fluid made by ExxonMobil, used as an alternative to perchloroethylene. It is a petroleum derivative rather than a chlorinated solvent. We use it because it cleans well and finishes garments nicely. If you have specific health or environmental questions about the solvent, ask us and we will point you to the manufacturer's published information rather than guess.
